Cape Coral is a fabulous waterfront community that is not only a delightful place to live, but offers many attractive investment opportunities! With over 400 miles of fresh and saltwater canals and direct access to the Gulf of Mexico, the Caloosahatchee River and Charlotte Harbor, Cape Coral is truly a boating paradise.
Cape Coral is a young city, founded in 1957 by Leonard and Jack Rosen, owners of the Gulf American Land Corporation. The brothers recognized the area’s potential and proceeded to transform the land north of the Caloosahatchee River into a “Waterfront Wonderland”. The oldest part of Cape Coral is the Yacht Club neighborhood in the southeast corner of the city. Built in the 60’s, this area offers superior access to the Gulf of Mexico.
The “Gold Coast” area along the east side of the city developed in the 1970’s and features quick access and sweeping views of the Caloosahatchee River. The south central Pelican area began to grow in the 80’s and is today enjoying increased activity with the addition of Tarpon Point, a luxury resort-style community with deep water marina access to the Gulf of Mexico. The southwest section of Cape Coral has developed more recently and is an area of newer construction with wide saltwater canals that access the south spreader waterway to the Gulf of Mexico.
| NE and NW are areas of more recent development, offering newer single family homes and condominiums with good access to Punta Gorda as well as Fort Myers.
The median age of resident of Cape Coral is
now about 41 and more than half of the
population is between 25 and 64. With an
abundance of waterfront property and
friendly off-water neighborhoods, a low
crime rate and an affordable high quality of
life, Cape Coral has something to offer for
everyone! |
